Why have a turtle as an emblem?

Castello Monterinaldi, has chosen to produce wines to the rhythms of the vine and nature. It is the Slow Wine of Chianti Classico.

The turtle is synonymous with slowness, longevity, patience, perseverance and endurance. The producer prefers to take his time and allow his wines to express themselves fully.

In organic culture , since the beginning of its history (1961), it cultivates its vines while respecting its terroir and its environment.

Our history with Castello Monterinaldi

Carole and André met Daniele and Magdalena in Montreal in 2014. They already knew that their passion for good wine, good food and fun would unite them. This is one of the few producers that we visited as a family! We adore the Monterinaldi team, the mystery of the century-old premises, and their modern cellar! We are proud to present their products both in private imports and in SAQ.

A little anecdote to share with friends

The Chianti appellation is one of the oldest in Europe. It all started in 1716, when an unprecedented edict delimited and framed the production of wine in the Tuscany region: Chianti was born.

The main grape variety of this appellation is Sangiovese. A little late it allows the production of wine with aromas of black cherries and wild spices.

According to the specifications of the appellation, the Chianti Classico must age 11 months (including 3 months in the bottle) before being marketed. Conversely, the Chianti Classico Riserva undergoes aging in oak barrels for 24 months.

A good glue for you
